Visitors to Vatican City can view a new exhibition highlighting a century of papal transportation within the Vatican Museums. Titled "A century of the Popemobile," the display opened on October 29, 2026, and remains open until January 28, 2027.

Located in a glass pavilion at the Square Garden near the Carriage Pavilion and the Vatican Pinacoteca, the exhibition features eight historical Mercedes-Benz vehicles alongside the world's first automobile and a modern S-Class model. Among the highlighted artifacts is a Mercedes-Benz Nürburg 460 presented to Pope Pius XI in 1930. The Associated Press and a local news report confirmed the public opening date for the collection, which traces the evolution of vehicles used during papal travels.
